North Bristol Trust (NBT) provides hospital and community healthcare to the residents of Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset and we are also a specialist regional centre for major trauma, neurosciences, plastics and burns, orthopaedics and renal services.
We are working with Carillion on the £ 430 million project to build a new state of the art hospital on our Southmead Hospital site in Bristol, which will open in May 2014. At the same time we will be bringing Frenchay Hospital and Southmead Hospital teams to work together in the same location at Southmead. The Frenchay site will then be closed to patients.
The media buying service needs to provide the best solution for purchasing media space to advertise the key messages relating to this move and to reach all of the target audience.
Aim of Service
- To advise on how best to optimise the media mix to achieve our objective of reaching the target audience with the key messages;
- To ensure that all public residing within the target area specified below receive and recall the information about the move;
- To provide a cost effective solution to meet requirements of media buying for NBT's advertising campaign about the move to the new hospital.
Target Audience
We need to maximise our reach to every household in our catchment area of North Bristol (North of the River Avon), South Gloucestershire and North Somerset with the key messages. In particular, we will be targeting:
- The elderly;
- Families with young children;
- Those needing regular treatment.
In addition to this:
- GPs and Practice Managers;
- Community groups and informal network, such as taxi drivers;
- Major stakeholders;
- Staff;
- Volunteers - "Move Makers”.
We need to reach the specified audience with maximum impact to communicate the Move prior to the first patient move on 14.5.2014 and subsequently to ensure patients do not arrive at the closed hospital site.
Initial short-listing will take place following submission of Pre-Qualification documentation. The Trust will then undertake a staged process of Competitive Dialogue with initially between 3 and 5 bidders to determine the best solution for current and future needs commensurate with good value for money.
