Middlesbrough Council is reviewing the delivery of residential care provision for children and young people and wishes to seek interest from providers with a proven track record of delivering high quality and value for money services to express their views on the packaging, format, content and methods of delivering the services.
The Council wishes to work with providers that can offer innovative and imaginative solutions to the range of needs that children and young people have and support us in acheiving the following outcomes:
- Placement Stability,
- Improved/ Good Academic Achievement,
- Improved Health and Well Beign,
- Services closest to a locality in Middlesbrough where it is reasonable and appropriate for the child or young person,
- Improved Self Esteem,
- Positive engagement within the community,
- Aspirations for the future,
- Responsive and Flexible Services,
- Joint Venture approach to realise savings for the Council.
It is anticipated that 6-8 organisations will be selected for interviews in September 2012.
At this stage the discussions will relate to Middlesbrough Council however there could be potential for the other Tees Valley Local Authorities (Darlington, Hartlepool, Redcar & Cleveland & Stockton) to join in the tender at a later stage.
